Default Question for those with Magnaflow 18" only please

That is what I currently have. I have seen a lot of people saying they have removed the resonators with numerous exhaust configurations and not many people that did it and didn't like it. So here is my question. Has anyone done a muffler swap only to the 18" Magnaflow and then removed the resonators afterward? If so, did you like it better? My exhaust guy is telling me it won't have that nice deep rumble I currently have it will just be louder with less bass. I'm starting to wonder if he is right.....

Hi I Had an 18" Magna flow cat back system without the resonators. Your guy is not telling you the truth. You will love the sound, especially when the packing material wears out a little. You will still get a nice rumble. I switched to a 14" Magna flow, without the resonators, which gave more sound, still nice, but i plan on changing things up again. I might go with dual cherry bomb for that true dual and sound and better flow, with no resonators.
You don't need the resonators, take them OFF.

I 1st installed the 18" mag. and left the reso's on..... too quiet. Deleted the reso's and noticed a little increase in loudness, but a better "throatier" tone. The 18' was still to quiet for me though. I now have the 14" w/ no reso's and it's perfect. Deep and Throaty with minimal interior drone.

I just got the 18" installed Friday and left the reso's on while driving around running errands. It was a little deeper and fuller sounding than stock but not loud enough.

Went back Saturday and they took off the reso's - it got deeper, fuller, and a little louder. To me, its the right balance because I didnt want something that was too loud, but wanted the deep sound.

Sounds like I will be putting her under the knife again. I don't want to piss off the neighbors with the 14" so I'm gonna have them pull the resonators and it sounds like I'll be happy with that.

Thanks for the replies!!!!!

So why not do the 14" with the resonators? Should be louder than the 18" but not as loud as a 14" without resonators?

I bought the 18" because from what I read the 14" is a little on the loud side which is fine for me but I don't want to piss my neighbors off. Unless I'm misunderstanding the comments I don't think the 18" without the resonators will be as loud as the 14" with them.

Regardless of all that, it is a lot cheaper and easier for me to remove the resonators at this point than it would be for me to buy a new muffler.
