Default 2013 ram rear bumper swap?

Hey whats up?

I just recently bought a brand new dodge ram 1500 outdoorsman edition. Love the truck but i also want to put a dual exhaust on it like what is found on the sport models. I was wondering if any of you have done this or know where i could get the parts.. dont know if the hangers are the same from 2009-2013

thanks

The bumpers between the 4.7 and 5.7 trucks are the same minus the cut outs. Assuming all your bracketry is good and undamaged it should be a direct swap between the old and the replacement bumper. You only need the shell and the dealer would be the easiest place to locate it unless you have a offload shop nearby that sells a lot of ranch hands.. They may have a takeoff. Also talk to your dealer about take offs. Most of my local dealers modify new trucks with aftermarket parts and have a stock of parts in back that are new, unboxed and deeply discounted. My local dealer has about 15 wrangler bumpers he can't unload at the moment. Good luck

Check places like Craigslist. I found a bumper with cut outs for a buddy for $100.00. The bumper had a very very small scratch in the chrome. About 1/4 inch but did not go through. Came with all the plastic and license plate lights. Dealer took it off at delivery and the guy got a new one.

There are usually tons on places like Craigslist from the people who upgrade to aftermarket bumpers. I honestly like them better with out cut outs so I could have just dumped the exhaust under the truck near the axle with a turndown.

Holy crap Newfoundland, landed there once!!!!

Not sure they have craigslist up there but if you can get shipping I would think EBAY would be cheaper than the dealership.

I like dual exhaust but I would consider having it come out the sides rather than having to get a new bumper. Some like the look of it coming out the back. On the practical side I do see some advantages of not coming out the back. If the exhaust comes out the sides then more ground clearance/departure angle. I also was hooking up my camper and had the exhaust in my face and felt the heat with the rear facing dual exhaust. If it came out the sides just behind the rear wheel then that would not have been an issue.

All of these are good points, doees anyone know if the 2013 rear bumper has the same mounting brackets as the 2012 models? i cant find much info on that. If i go with the dual exhaust im gonna have to get the bumper... i love the look.
