Default AMP Research power running boards.

Hello again forum!

I am interested in getting the AMP Research power running bars but my friend brought something to my attention. While 4x4ing you could get a side pinned or whatever may happen and by opening the door it will try to lower the step rails. Of course all you fine people most likely know how these work already. Do you folks think that it would be possible to make an aux power switch to turn off the running boards so while 4x4ing they wont lower?

Inline switch would be easy. They aren't cheap though.

I have the AMP boards. Best Money I've spent on my truck. Absolutely love 'em.
I don't think they well be a problem the stop when they hit anything. My suggestion, contact AMP tech support. They have always been very responsive, and I'm sure they would put your mind at ease...

I woukd be surprised if the Amp circuitry didn't have a safety for that scenario. Also as Battlerattle said consider an inline switch or relay to disable them while offload. However, IMHO, if you are doing enough offloading where you think it might be an issue I'd consider not spending the money on the Amp steps.
