Default Need some help

Hey my name is nick and I have an 02 dodge with the 5.9 v8 and when I'm driving down the road and keep at a constant speed it will start to vibrate or shake and it stops when I let off the gas and also when I apply more to the gas also it does like a hopping or it might just be the vibration when I'm backing up at idel speed

Almost sounds like a drive shaft. Does it just get worse under acceleration or literally no vibration until you accelerate?

You have wheel hop when backing up? Is there a roar or any noise associated with this vibration or when backing up? Do you have a LSD? I wouldn't rule out a drive shaft, but if the vibration goes away when you get off the gas at speed, and you have wheel hop in reverse, sounds like the guts in your pumpkin are eating themselves. Pull your diff cover and check for shavings.

Is it 4wd? Mine would do it and it almost felt like I was driving over rumble strips on the side of the road.

Mine actually turned out to be the RF outer Universal.

If it's 2wd you can jack up the rear (both sides/same time)(check in neutral) and check the rear u joint (it'll also give you an idea if there's any rear end noises.). After the truck has been driven a couple miles. If the needle bearings are bad when it cools off they solidify almost like a graphite. Once it's driven it'll turn back into a kind of paste and that's when the play will be noticed.

Any squeek, squeek, squeek, noises?

In my experience pinions usually make noise during deceleration or when you let off the throttle.

Just my 2 cents
