Default anybody ever try off road lights in the sport hood scoops?

I did a little searching and I found one guy who rigged some of the small LED lights up in the fake vents and it made me think maybe it's possible. Some nice flood lights coming out of the hood seems like a great plan to me. Buuuuuuuut I'm far from an expert in this stuff so I thought I'd run it by y'all and see

Would they be too high to properly light up anything? And if you pointed them down, wouldn't they reflect off the hood? Interesting concept - but I'd have to see it to believe it would work properly.

too high I doubt, they do roof racks. Hell I had a roll bar on my old ranger when I was a kid with lights on it.

The reflecting thing is something i was wondering about but I'm not sure if it's something I need to worry about

I think you would have trouble flinging floods that could be fitted there. Even if you could they likely won't be much use except for the cool factor. With that much hood in front you'll really cut the lower half of the beam off on even the most narrow beam spots. If you want light there I'd go with the LEDs for look and put your working lights elsewhere.

Turn signal lights in the scoops would be unique, wish I had a sport hood on my express. For those who added a oem sport hood, how did it turn out?

not a concern I have. Most of the LED lights are too bright for traffic.
One of the big issues I've always had with lights is they all aim too low for when I want to get out of the truck and get anything done. Your body blocks the lights, I just and the idea that this could be genius.

I've seeing a lot of different size bars browsing online, but who knows what'll work or even the proper way to mount something like that to seal it

I would try this because I think it's an awesome idea. But I don't have a hood like that. So someone try this!

seemed like a good idea to me. I've just gotta find the right sized ones and figure a secure way to mount them
