Yes. The V6 fan found on 4th gen 1500's with the V6 is the easiest fan to swap in. I have a 2011 1500 Hemi and did the swap about 3 months ago. Its completely plug and play. No wires to splice and pushes air well. I installed a 180 degree thermostat and I think Hemifever set my diablo to have the fan come on at 190 degrees.
I have yet to tow in the summer with the v6 fan, but plan to do so this summer. We will see how it cools down the truck in 105 degrees and humidity in Oklahoma.
The 4th gens (not just the v6's) have an electric cooling fan from the factory. The v6 electric fan is nearly identical to the v8 electric fan. It actually is identical from what I can tell except for the shroud. I don't see the benefits of swapping to a v6 efan as being worth the cost. It will be slightly better as the shroud is slightly better but the stock fan cools ok without the mechanical fan and adjusting the settings(I've done it).
I believe stock programming, the efan on the v8's only kicks on at 222 deg F or higher (overheating protection).
