Default 1-1/4 wheel spacer not seating with rim

hey im new to this site. hoping im asking this question in the right spot. I bought 1-1/4 wheel spacers i went to put them on truck and the thread size is smaller on the spacer then the truck, is that an issue? also it looks like my stock lugs are hit the back of my rim when i put spacer on so rim is not seating properly against the spacer, has this happened to anyone or can someone help me out the issue? thanks.

Welcome to the forumz. Yes, this is the correct section to post this in but it probably would have been best to start your own new thread with your question. Probably get you more responses that way. Anyway, so I think I understand the second part. Sounds like the spacer isn't thick enough to overcome the length of the stock lug studs and they are hitting the back of the rim before it can seat? That correct? if you can't turn or adjust the rim so that it will seat completely without the stock lug studs hitting, I would NOT run those spacers. The only options I see are to replace all your studs with shorter studs (which is going to be a PITA, potentially unsafe, and I don't know if they even make shorter studs) or swap to thicker spacers. Maybe a 1-1/2" would clear them? Just FYI though, everyone's opinion is different but I am not a fan of running spacers that big.

I'm a little confused about the first part. Are you saying that the studs on the spacers are shorter than the ones on the truck? If so, that could be a big deal. It depends how much shorter. You need enough lug to properly engage and torque the lug nuts. If they are any more than 1/4" shorter than the stock studs, I would not risk it. Sounds like it isn't going to matter with these spacers anyway though because of your other problem.

hey thanks for the respond i put the spacers up for sale because alot of people on here were saying a 35 tire will fit with a 1/4 inch adapter. its more temporary but i might hold off and look for new rims. and the spacers lug nuts are smaller in diameter im not sure the exact size but the lug nuts on my truck will just slide off the lugs on the spacer and the lugs for the spacer are to small to thread on the trucks studs. im not a fan of spacers eaither so i might just hold off and look for new rims.

I had a custom set of spacers made for my 2013 Ram that are hub and wheel centric and as close to 1/4" as they could get. It's 3/8" I'd say. Cost about $200.

I would advise against the cheapo generic 1/4" spacers...I had BAD vibration in my 07 Ram with these. Had a custom set of 1/4" made hub centric only and ran these for over 5 years and 75,000 miles without an issue.

or invest in some wheels with the offset you want
He did invest in Fuel wheels but why he didn't get a set with a negative offset is the question. Had he done that then spacers wouldn't be needed.

i didnt go with a negative offset because it is all gravel here so whenthey stick past the wheel well it will chip the truck like crazy. so their is no happy medium between +1 and _12 and -12 is jst to much + 1 to little so thats why want a little wheel spacer to get mor of the look i want without throwing stones

I had the same problem. I went with the +01 Fuel Nutz wheels. I then put on the CST 4" spindles and it pushed the front wheel WAY out ( like 1.5"). I now need to get some 1.5" Bolt on spacers for the rear to match them up. Best bet... Get Bushwacker Pocket Style Flares! Problem SOLVED!!!

Just need to free up another $400 to get them
