Default Chrysler 9.25

I'm wondering what a Chrysler 9.25 rear end can hold horsepower wise.
I am going to change out the diff to a Detroit TrueTrac with some motive gears.

I'll be putting about 450-550 to the wheels.

sometimes i put 550 to the wheels and it's holding up nicely.. 231k and counting..

Awesome. I know they are 31 spline axles so those should hold up pretty good. Also Ill be changing the pinion yoke to a billet 1350 to match up to my custom driveshaft.

All depends on who builds it and with what parts! If the guy doesn't set it up right wheather you use stock parts or bottom of the line parts it will blow up. The right guy and the right parts I would say 1000 ft pounds of torque in a car that weights 3, 000 ish pounds. Giving a truck that weighs 5-6, 000 pounds 700 ft pounds torque. Its NOT the HP its the Torque!!!

From what I gather, the 9.25 SHOULD be comparable in strength to the Dana 60 everyone loves. Although I can't say too much about the factory spiders in the open carriers. I smoked mine apparently because of the one wheel burnouts I've been doing. Got a Yukon DuraGrip coming next week to replace them with.

I put SHOULD in caps because I thought the same thing RAM EM. As far as the size of the components go it should be but seems like they cut a LOT of corners on the details.

I have a 4.10 gear with a Detroit truetrac with no problems. I'd say it also depends on how sticky or tall a tire you plan on running.
