Might do no cats. I don't have state inspection. I'm thinking leave resonators on and no cats.

I have been contemplating on this for a while as well, since my 14" Magnaflow could be just a bit louder.

The thing for me is all about sound quality as well as loudness. I agree, no cats would sound terrible.

I already have some drone but when MDS kicks in I can barely tell the difference in sound...which is what I am MOST concerned with...BUT since I understand that resonators are put in place to remove specific tones...I don't think those same tones would still be present since I don't have the stock muffler...or is that flawed thinking?

I just bought some MBPR 5" black tips to match up to the bumper cut outs better so I think I may have to remove the resonators anyway...

Where dI'd you get the black tips? And any follow up info or pics after install? Interested in putting some on my rig and was curious how it worked out and if you removed resonators etc..

Thanks

I need a few better ones but I put them in my build thread. Got them from fast (now Bully Performance).

If you have Magnaflow and remove the resonators you might get a 5% sound increase and at wot it just sounds more like a race car.

As stated above it's a very minimal gain in depth and volume only...it seems that the resonators were primarily there for the MDS/4 cyl sound so it doesn't emit those tones when it cuts to 4 cylinders... I don't think it's much different at all on my truck personally. I would say 5-10% more sound. If you don't have any drone now you really shouldn't after resonator delete either.
