Default New sound + Appearance ?

Well my first mod didn't take me long. 700 miles on the clock and at the exhaust shop. I chose to go with the Cherry Bomb Pro with dual outlet. Currently it is dumped at the muffler. I know..., why dump a dual exit muffler. I wanted to be able to have the option of running duals back out without having to use a y-pipe. The sound is great. Not too loud and definitely not stock. The only reservation I have now is the look of not having those nice shiny tips in the bumper recess. The guy that welded it up told me that there have been a couple of people that have requested the tips be hung in place (while muffler being dumped) just to please the eye's.

So, my question to you all is, "Would you hang them or not?"
Either way I am very pleased with the sound of this muffler.

Thanks in advance,
Ross

The y-pipe everyone is putting in is where the exhaust from bank1 and bank2 meet into a single 3" pipe before the muffler. It is a crimped fit of the 2 pipes into 1 and causes a reduction of flow in the exhaust.

I believe you misunderstood my post. I meant I did not want to use a single outlet muffler in the chance of running dual tail pipe's. Meaning a y-pipe from the muffler out.

Oh, and I realy like the sound of dumping the exhaust. To the ear it seems to sound deeper and central to the cab. I guess it's because the sound resonating off of the ground. I would hate to (as of now) change it to a rear exit. In the past with one of my play trucks I swapped from dumped to full length rear exiting exhaust and wound up returning it back. Not a huge difference in overall sound but it's what I like.

edit to avoid upping my post count

"No" for me. if i was in your scenario i would prob end up doing a roll pan.

"Yes and No" for you since its personal preference. Assuming your muffler guy followed up on those requesting to have them hang then i guess he has the experience to get it done and in the end it will look like they are attached to piping. If your psyche can deal with the recessed cutouts not filled with tips then that is great too and you saved $$ for additional labor (if any)

Man it's as if everyone here just posts to bump their count.

I guess i should have just polled it.

Would you "Yes" hang the tips to complete the look in the rear
-or-
Would you "No" not hang the tips and just deal with the two cutouts on the bumper being empty.

It was really a general hypothetical question.

I agree if you can hang them firmly supported. You obviously don't want then flopping around back there but I think the notched bumper would look odd with no tips.
