no you just dispose of the oil in it...environmentally of course

i have a old oil jug that i marked used oil on
i use it in my metal squirt can for many things

as for the catch can hoses
there is no in & out on them, so you can't put them on wrong

here is mine, no kinking either & it does not touch the Red plug with the wires
