Bumping this back up because i'm an idiot. I just installed my assist and I put the shock on upside down! I figured it was a one side would only fit one side type of deal but apparently I was wrong. Is it possible to take this thing off to reverse it? I pulled on it a little but I'm worried that once its off it may not stay on again... Help me out again guys!

Thinking more about it, there has to be a way so that the tailgate can be removed. I just don't see how to do it.

Never mind. I figured it out and it was pretty simple. It works better being on the right way! When its upside down it drops fast the first 2 or 3" and then slows down..

To remove it just take a small flat head and pry up on the back of the ball bearing head. this opens up the clamps and allows it to pop right off.

Glad we could help.

I do that myself. I helps me figure things out. My wife and coworkers think I'm a bit nuts. Jury's still out on that one...
