Default fuel economy advice?

Hey everyone, ive had my 360 powered ram for about a year now and i am looking for some better fuel milage. It's completely bone stock, and it gets 12.3 average mpg. i know that is about right for a stock 5.9 but im looking to get a little better than that being that i have a 65 mile round trip to and from work everyday. Ive been thinking about a cold air intake, flowmaster 40 single inlet dual outlet muffler with 3" tailpipes and a programmer. but im not sure what programmer i should get with there being so many out there claiming they can help with fuel, power, towing, and even race applications. so im wondering if any of y'all have any suggestions, since im sure someone one here has poured some money into their truck and i plan on it, just not all at one time being as im still paying for it and full coverage insurance isnt cheap for a 20 year old with a few speeding tickets under my belt. Thanks in advance everyone

The prevailing wisdom is the various add ons do little to nothing to improve fuel mileage, other wise considering the pressure manufacturers are under to improve mpg, would incorporate them into the build. So what is left, most has to do with your right foot. Drive like you have an egg between your foot and the accelerator. Keep your tires properly inflated and vehicle properly serviced. Also don't carry unnecessary weight around.

Beat me to it. I was gonna say, best mod odf all would be the "prius" mod hahaha.

all jokes aside, light driving, and maybe some lighter tires and rims may help a little bit.

Yup, nothing you do to your truck will give the mileage enough of a boost to beat a commuter.
