so last night I put in an order for my rc truck. ordered a Traxxas Slash 4x4 Ultimate, a red and black Ramrunner. I opted to run electric instead of the nitro gas series, because batteries can be recharged over and over, vs paying for the gas (it's something like 20%methane 80% gas?) Between now and the arrival of the truck, I need to make a trip to a local hobby shop for some LiPo batteries, 2s styles. later down the road I'll invest in some 3s LiPo bats. My friend says the 3s LiPo are like installing nitrous and a good tune for it on your truck compared to the 2s LiPo. might have to get some slicks for it and a radar gun LOL

anyway, I'm thinking maybe a GoPro mounted to the truck for some videos? if the Z population is interested I just may do that and start a series of them.

AND there's a track built in my friends backyard, so there is a group forming in the near future for some racing and overall fun. definitely looking forward to satisfying my mod itch in a whole new light...
If you need any hop up parts I amy be able to help you out.....

that's insane! Nice video!

Ed, I will let ya know. I just picked up a pair of batteries, 2 cell LiPo, and a powerful charger that I can set power points, cutoff, temps and graphing of the batteries usage. definitely over the top for a charger, but it charges the batteries in roughly under a hour, so that's why I opted that route.

Not to get off topic here...I hate those bugs.

Got a stupid plastic in-ground pond for the backyard for $30, and was like...what the heck it's $30.

Add pump, filters, fountain, electrical/GFI outlet, fish, plants, landscaping, slate walkway, giant watering can, and I should have filled the hole in and gave the pond away...

P.S. I have a Jeep Wrangler Rock Crawler RC and all I use it for is to chase squirrels...

got the truck, layed down a couple smooth easy runs, and a couple sessions to really test the trucks potential. not gunna lie, this is one NASTY rc truck. definitely loves to be in the air. I ran it hard in the back yard with a couple jumps, slid around on some gravel, and full speed runs on blacktop. Absolutely insane.

here's the only picture I have so far of it, it's just when I unwrapped it. unfortunately, they messed up my order and sent me just the standard Traxxas Slash body instead of the Ram one. I wasn't about to send it back just because of that. I'll destroy this body first and then get the Ram setup.

Tomorrow, me, my buddy and his dad have a short course race setup at their track. I'll try to snag some action shots and a video between the grinding if I can. each of us have slashes so it will be pretty even.

as for modification, I've already started! keeping it simply at first, I ordered something practical. inside and under the body, dirt, pollen, mud and debris collect easily. I ordered some barriers to separate the electronic components to reduce this. minor, but it will help.
