Default Key fob doesnt work all the time..

Greetings..my first post. Ive had my Ram for alittle over a year.10k on the clock. My only issue is that sometimes the fob will not lock or unlock the truck. I have to pull the spare out to get in. I installed a new battery, and still have this problem. Last night I had to manually lock truck. This morning the fob worked. Any ideas?
great forum..

Battery change fixed mine when it started working intermittantly. Sorry

Howdy David, and welcome to the Ram ForumZ. I encourage you to stop by the Newbie Checkin section and introduce yourself so other members can give you a proper howdoyado.

There are several threads on here about fobs going bad and the fixes. The best one I've seen is to take the fob apart, use an eraser to clean the metal under the buttons and put it back together.

I hate to say it, saying Hello in the Newbie section is just a formality
They don't answer questions, but they like to say Hello

Our FOBs just are finicky, especially when you park right in front of a store like a 7/11
park over away from the windows & they work better

Making sure the battery is clean & secure may help

Odd, mine just quit today. This afternoon, it was weak, tonight it quit. That's exactly like the last failure.
