Default EXPRESS quad vs dual headlights.

I have a 2012 SB Express. I've been having a discussion with a coworker about changing out my headlights for brighter ones. My coworker also has an EXPRESS though its a quadcab. So we both assumed we had dual headlights and for a replacement that's what I bought. I even verified the build sheet code LMAS HALOGEN HEADLAMPS not the LMEP - Halogen Quad Headlamps.
. Well it turns out I have QUAD headlights. And my coworker has duals. When we looked at them, we could see an obvious difference. Anybody else with a SB EXPRESS like mine? I figured I'd give a heads up for anybody else planning to swap their headlights .It was no big deal. I hadn't opened the new ones I bought, but I did end up buying high beams too.

Standard cab express models in 2012 came with different headlamps than the quad and crew cab expresses. From what I have read it is because the standard cabs where built in Mexico. Why that would make them have the quads I have no idea. 2013 they put they put quads on all express models.

That bothered me also when I had my 2012 express quad cab. I wanted the headlights the standard cab express came with.

My RCSB Express has the dual lamps. From what I have heard, these Mexican-built RC's started to get the quad lamps very late in the model year.

Mine was built mid-model year, but I rarely drive at night so this doesn't bother me so much.

That makes sense. Mine was built late in the model year.
