Default The 2012 Ram stereo

guys, I just have the u connect CD MP3 player radio Sirius equipped unit. I wondered who makes this thing and what type of speakers are in it? it doesn't sound too bad and bass is not bad. I wondered if that has some Amp in it. I don't think its any Alpine, but I have no idea. there is no alpine names anywhere. I have a bighorn.

I heard of a sub also, where is this located? if you have one?

thanks
Chris

If you don't have the Alpine system you don't have an amp or a sub. The Alpine systems have a sub under the rear passenger seat, not sure where the amp is located on those systems...

Couldn't tell you what brand or size all the speakers are. I'm guessing 5x9's in the doors and 3.5" up in the dash?

I have the Alpine system and I can tell you it is ok but it is no where near the fantastic sound I had in my 2010 Dodge Challenger. That was the best sounding system I ever had in a vehicle. I intend in the future to change out my speakers to JL Audio and most likely replace the sub underneath the rear seat on the passenger side. I also think in the Ram's they have a cheaper system for regular radio as there is more static on FM then there should be. Challenger again was better for this.

Ill be swapping out the stuff also. my question, is the Bluetooth and telephone buttons, can you buy aftermarket systems that connect up and use the selection buttons on the steering wheel and such. I replaced my titan radio with a JVC unit and you could buy a module to connect up the features. I assume this can be done for the Ram?

thanks
Chris

I don't think there is a module to keep UConnect buttons on the steering wheel with an aftermarket radio. All other steering wheel radio controls, yes.

I will be keeping the sterio system but replacing the speakers with JL Audio. I will also prob replace the sub - and more importantly a custom box back there. I think it is plastic holding it in and vibrates. I think I will add sound deadner stuff to the doors as well.
