Default rust protection

hi everybody,
just purchased a new 2013 sport, I live in a very wet/snow climate with lots of road salt. I have in the past used rust check type rust proofing but I see dodge offers a one time application at an expensive price of $ 749+. what are your thoughts on the quality of this product compared to the yearly application of the rust check type products?
thanks

I don't know if they have ziebart in Canada, but I have had my 09 done, and they did a great job. They re-spray every year($50 a respray). I think if you plan on keeping the truck for a Long time, it's worth the investment. I think the initial spray and undercoat was like $300 bucks. I would spend the money if your going to keep it, and the environment calls for it. Good luck.

Go get it Krown rust proofed and do it every spring, apparently the summer heat activates it so the spring is the best time to get it done. I've had mine done once a year since new, here is my most recent pic.

I bought the Chrysler Maximum Care "Lifetime" bumper to bumper warranty when I purchased my truck (it also has a lower finance rate of 2.29%), and the undercoating was included in the package. They coat it once a year for the first 5 years. I'm not sure who they sub the work out too around here, but they did a really nice job. The nice thing about getting it with the warranty is that they are responsible for it. If for some reason things start rusting out down there because the undercoating wasn't applied correctly or something was missed, the dealership/RAM are liable for it since they contracted the work. All I have to do is take it in for coating once a year.

When we went through the finance options, it ended up costing me like $8 more a month for the Maximum Care and all the undercoating (since it also carries a lower interest rate with it). So for the cost of getting a local shop to do the undercoating, I got a bumper to bumper lifetime warranty. Plus with Max Care you get a free loaner car every time you come in for service...even oil changes. Can't beat it. Might be something to look into....but not sure how that would work....if you can refinance through their program and still get it?

packages have change, so I've been told by the dealer, the rust proof they offer now is a one time only application and checked once a year, it is rather expensive at $749+tax... just don't know if it is any better than krown at $129 ?

Thanks. The known does make a bit of mess underneath and it drips for a few days after it is applied. But i would rather deal with that then rust, which I hate. Krown does have their own warranty if you get it done from new and have it reapplied every year. So far I'm very happy with the lack of rust on my RAM, and trust me they throw down the salt here in the GTA.
