I know this isn't Ram stuff, but it is Dodge and you gotta admit we all love Dodge and Horsepower. So I thought I'd post this video.
My Dad has had this 1970 Dodge Dart since before I was born. It used to be a 340 4-speed car. Since then we have changed it into a Prostreet racecar by tubbing it out, putting a 440 in it... the whole shebang! It's pretty much a never ending project for me and him. We're constantly working on it changing the suspension set up or things on the engine to try and make it go faster.
1970 Dodge Dart Prostreet car
440 block with a stroker kit makes it 500 cu in.
721 HP and 656 ft-lbs on the engine dyno
727 Torqueflite 3-speed transmission with a Grinder trans brake
Dana 60 rear end with 5.13 gears
32x14.5 Hoosier slicks
The list would be never ending if I went through everything
Every year we go up to Ashcroft, BC with a whole bunch of friends and family for the Old Time Drags. This year my Dad finally let me take it down the track. So here's the GoPro video of my first two runs ever taking this car down the track.
First run was a 10.64 @ 127 MPH and the second one was a 10.63 @ 128 MPH. Keep in mind that's up fairly high with warm air. Down at our local track in Mission, BC it would be running about 10.30's at 130 MPH. We also have changed some of the suspension and the two-step rev limiter since I drove it which improved the 60 foot time drastically and made the car run faster overall. We also plan to change the torque converter out which should make it faster. It should be down around 10.00's when all said and done.
Here's the video:
And because everyone likes pictures...
