I too do not understand why a filtration system is needed? It's catching gunk. You are doing to dump the gunk into a used-oil container, not back in your truck.

I'm not sure if this is accurate or not but in my thoughts on the "why" for a filtration system in the catch can would be to make sure that the majority of oil that enters the can is collected and forced to drip down and minimize the amount of oil mist exiting the can. Without the filter, it would just be an oil mist chamber still allowing a certain amount of oil to exit. I would imagine you're still collecting oil but I think the amount oil captured would be maximized with use of the filter. Again, not sure if that's accurate, just my thoughts. Feel free to argue that.

You are correct, sir.

I just dont how or where to mount. That's what makes the BT and DS ones great is the bracket.

I check on it today and it is working. However the drain valve I installed at the bottom is leaking. With that being said I wanted to change this because I wish I went with the model in the link you posted since it opens. I did not want to buy another and have to run into more issues even though I think it would have been fine.

FYI I just went ahead and bought the Billet one today for $109 shipped.

The catch can does work and is something that you should have as even though mine was leaking there was still a decent about of oil collected still in it.

Hope this helps.
