Default Trade In Value?

Wanted to get some feed back on what people here think the trade in value of the truck will be.

Truck Info:

2009 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab Laramie
Brilliant Black w/ Chrome
Every possible option that came with the truck in 09

Truck has 121,900 miles on it, has rock chips and a couple of minor dings but nothing of substance.

Title is clean.

Interior is in better condition than most cars with 20,000 miles on them.

NADA says the truck is around $21k (which even seems high to me)
KBB says the truck is around $15.5k which seems about where I would expect.
Black book values seem to be closer to NADA than KBB with BB looking to be in the 19 range.

I was sent a letter offering me $17,500 about 6 months ago, if i wanted to buy a 2013 Ram
That is almost 50% of the price when i bought it

with the Factory Lifetime Drivetrain Warranty & the Lifetime Maximum Care Warranty that i bought, unless someone wrecks my Ram, i will hold onto it until 2017, when there is suppose to be a body style change

Check and see what the dealers around you use. I know here they will use the NADA. If they do, go for that and don't accept anything less.

I would say around 18-20k the mileage will bring down the price, something you can't get back, body work can always be done if necessary. But I would shop around and if you do get a good price get it in paper for future deals

Dealer uses Black Book. Black book values are tough to come by because they are subscription based (from what I can tell).

I would imagine in the 17 or 18 would be black book ish, but without having access to it (which i imagine is the point), its hard to know what they are looking at.

I see some 09's and 10's on the lots selling for $23-$25k, and those are quad cabs. The Crew Brings $25+. I bought my 09 used last October with 59k miles for $22k, Cew Cab Big Horn SLT. So for your truck, I wouldn't be shy of asking 19-20k for it.

I got 20k or 21k (cant remember exactly) for my 09 quad cab SLT 4x4 with a 4.7. (one step below a big horn). It had 70k on it, and this was last august.

I can imagine that 19-22k is not outside the realm of possibility.

It likely helped that I had cash in hand and bought their last new 2011 on their lot in august of last year.

So I ended up with $16k but with additional goodies thrown in with my new truck. Worked out a deal that worked for everyone.
