Wow...29MPG!
Thanks Josh for the info.

I think this will be my next truck to.
Criteria's for me are:
- crew cab
- 6'4" bed
- 3.0L Diesel
- tuner capable

Then one will be on my driveway

Has anyone seen load ratings for the 1500 with the diesel? I have read that it will add roughly 400 pounds to the curb weight, so I wonder how this will affect load capacity.

I know that the 2500 with Cummins diesel is 1000 lbs heavier than the 5.7L Hemi and reduces the load capacity by nearly 700 lbs. The same proportion might drop the 1500's load capacity to only a 1000 lbs (tow rating would likely go up, of course).

The diesel will add about 100 lbs more, not 400 lbs.

Quote:
In the Grand Cherokee, the EcoDiesel weighs 4 pounds less than the 5.7-liter, but the aftertreatment setup -- including the SCR exhaust, urea system, and a full tank of diesel exhaust fluid -- weighs an additional 106 pounds, for a net gain of only 102 pounds over the V-8 (312 more, net, than the Pentastar).

And as with all the other trucks, the towing will vary depending on which gears you get in the rear end. The payload will vary greatly based on which truck you get, 4x4, std cab, quad, crew, ect.

Its the pre-release speculation for the diesel 3.0. Until the EPA estimate is out that's all it will be.
