Default 96 dodge 5.9 wont start has fuel and spark.

I have a 96 Dodge ram 1500 5.9 4x4 automatic. I recently swapped in a new transmission and now the truck won't start. I get 50 psi at fuel rail and spark to the plugs. I'm getting good compression as Well. When I pull the fuel rail to watch the injectors the spray fine but only long enough to get spark then they shut off. I've replaced the rotor cap the pick up, plugs , wires, rotor button, tps, crank position sensor, and the valve on the rear of the throttle body. I'm at a loss. Thanks for any info.

Pull the dipstick and see if you can set it on fire. If it'll burn, you'll need to clear the engine, to do this, 1st, make sure you are getting full throttle from the pedal, (most of us don't, until we do the ziptie at the gas pedal trick.) Once you know you are getting full throttle, hold her to the rugs and turn it over . Full throttle in start mode shuts the fuel off, it's called clear engine mode. If your dipstick won't burn, I dunno, at least it isn't flooded! Also, you may want to reboot the ecu. key to ign, disconnect NEG cable from battery, key off, reconnect battery.

^if that fails^

Did you check around the bell housing for a pinched wire?

I know this is improbable because it's cranking but the neutral safety switch wiring?

Also check the wiring to the starter and make sure the power and trigger wire are okay.

Sounds like you maybe have the throttle cable and the kick down cable reversed. Yeah, I don't know how either, but somehow, your throttle cable is at WOT which is why you're not getting any gas. Let us know what happens. Good luck!

Do you think that it may be unrelated and just bad timing?

Try having someone start it while you rap on the tank with a rubber mallet.

I just thought in your OP you had fuel so now I'm confused at that the symptoms really are. Did we get side tracked?

Isn't there some kind of inducter type set up for the ignition on the vintage truck?? Just shooting in the dark, but could that be bad?

I wasn't referring to engine timing. I was referring to bad timing as in not at a good time, hence implying that it was an unrelated issue...possibly.

Have you checked the crank position sensor. I just feel like we got completely off track here and everyone is just guessing...maybe there's low air in the tire.
