Default What would you do? Help!!

Brought my 2013 Laramie in to get a few cosmetic defects fixed before I drive out of state to move. I was told it would only take 1 1/2 hours to fix so I went to breakfast. The wife called 3 hours later to check on the status and the service guys tells us the truck is totally dead. He says while doing diagnostics the truck shutdown and the bcm is dead. He tells us good thing you brought it in because it was going to happen anyway (don't know how you could tell that). So my truck has no power at all and the part to replace it will take at least till Tuesday or Wednesday to get here and I have military orders to leave by Friday . I go back to the dealer later to get a rental to drive in the mean time and discover my truck window was left down during a storm. My seat was somewhat covered but still got wet, the floor was soaked and my window controls were wet. What would you do in this situation?

You are in a tough place being that you have to leave. What I would do is immediately take pictures of the water damage. If it was me, they would be replacing anything that got wet. You left it in their care, their insurance should cover the damage.

If they are not being honest and refuse, lawyer up.

The wife took a few pics but that's what I was thinking. At least replace the seat and carpet. The water is still there and prob won't be cleaned till it's fixed. It's hard to get the musty smell out of a vehicle. It's almost like they took the newness of my truck away, not too mention the major hassle.

I think you are being fair, replace the seat, carpet and electronics in the door.

Does any one know if you can hook up to a bcm or any other electronic component and be able to tell that it was "going" to break. That's what I find shady.

Hopefully I didn't come off as being too direct, you will likely have your problem resolved by them without needing a lawyer. Just the thought of having to deal with a lawsuit makes people very motivated to help you out.

Go talk to the service manager, the GM of the dealership and show them what you found, explain that it is unacceptable,, and they need to fix it properly and explain how you want it fixed. and to explain to them that clean up starts now not later. and document everything.
