I would be very pissed off as I'm sure you are. Make sure they test the switches in the door good also. I'm sure it was an accident and everyone makes mistakes but this is one that should not have happened. What if someone stole something out of the truck that couldn't be replaced because they left the window down?! Keep us updated.

The BCM or body control module was more than likely shorted . They normally don't go out unless there is a surge in power . SO they blew it. that little mod controls ale your windows, locks, wipers, radio, you name it, It controls it al the secondary systems.

This would upset me even more. This means they were aware that the window was down but they could not put it up but still left it outside in the rain! At the very least they should have covered it with plastic.

What bothers me most is the service guy saying "good thing it happened here because it was going to go out anyway". I just can't believe this is accurate information. If they did something to cause all this then just admit it, don't try and lie. Going to see what they're willing to do to fix all this today.

The general manager just told me a little rain won't hurt anything and he isn't replacing anything. He said the truck would have to be submerged for days and a detailing would fix the carpet. Things just got ugly.

^^^This. They damaged the BCM during diagnostics, and are trying to cover their ass. They knew the window was down because of the BCM they fried! Sounds like a really piss poor service department that just doesn't care. I would get all your info/docs in order and contact Chrysler Corporate.
Why were they performing diagnostic tests in the first place? Weren't you there just for cosmetic defects?

If the interior was cleaned and dried right away then yes there won't be any permanent damage BUT if that water sits and is allowed to "dry" by itself you might have issues down the road. I would call or email RAM just to get it on paper at the least.

Thanks for the link. As of right now the trick has not been cleaned, so most likely the water has dried.

Was it raining while you were waiting on the "repairs"? If so, they could have left the window down, let the interior get soaked, and then tried to use electrical devices (i.e., power windows), and fried the BCM that way. Smells bad to me...

If the floor got soaked it takes a LONG time for the jute padding underneath the carpet to dry completely.
