Default 108 Days Later...SHE CAME! Loaded Sport

It's been 108 days but who's really counting

She arrived today at the dealer and I pick her up on Monday. I'll have it undercoated, rust-proof sprayed, Bakflip tonneau installed and once those plates go on I'll be right out the door!

The undercoat ($450) is a thick black substance that covers the entire under carriage plus other exposed frames. At the same time it acts as a damper to reduce the level of outside noise while you drive. It acts as an insulator against the common road noise you hear beneath the truck. It also blackens out the wheel wells.

The rust-proofing ($450) is evident by the title.

I decided to do both due to the following reasons:
(1) I'm keeping the truck long-term
(2) It doesn't even have 10kms on it and so the metal is bare and hasn't seen a lot of dirt or moisture yet so direct contact with the undercoating I believe will be more effective since it's free of a lot of debris and moistures and the rust proofing will allow the dealer to hit all of the critical areas required while being new. It also saves me a year and half for doing a rust-proof spray by Krown.

I may have to ask about the undercoating. Is it like linex? I wonder if my dealer does this at all.

I am not sure what the material is exactly like but it appears to show as a tar substance. Some people don't want to pay the money but to me, I find it holds merit for my reasons stated.

My dealer doesn't actually perform this. There's a vendor down the street that handles this type of work. Not all dealers do it but I assume most do.

Great looking truck! I'm sure the wait you experienced does not seem all that bad right now. We will have to get together when I finally get mine....I will PM you.

Enjoy!

I'm not sure if my dealer did mine themselves or had some other place do it but I'd save your money on it. I checked mine in the spring (4 months later) and the majority of it had flaked off. I know its free for life to have it touched up but I went to Canadian Tire and bought some rubberized undercoating and did the whole truck and haven't had a problem since. Then had krown do their work. Nice truck though man!
