Default HVAC blend door issue?

Hello everyone,

what sorts of symptoms are associated with the AC blend door issue?

my truck today started rattling, popping, and snapping when I first start it up. It'll do it for about 10-15 seconds and it sounds like it's coming from behind the AC controls

I've also noticed that the "where at blows knob" doesn't always redirect the air flow, for example when on defrost it still blows out the vents, and when on floor it does the same thing to a lesser degree.

I'm hesitant to abirtrarilily bring it to the dealer as my warranty expired in March

thanks

Exco

Maybe you should PM the OP of this thread, he is replacing his. He could probably give you info on how his started.

Chrysler has been repairing these free of charge. Make sure the dealer reads through the entire TSB.

Thanks for the info and the responses.

I decided to pretty much just take a chance, as I didn't really feel like dealing with it myself. I brought the truck up to the dealership this morning.

I got a call about 2 hrs ago. They have the truck fixed! It was covered under warranty. I'm not sure if it's because they're aware that I tend to kick up a big fuss, or if it's a known problem that it's easier to fix and be done with it or what ever. My warranty expired 3 months ago.... even though I only have 26K miles.

A/C recirculation and temp actuator failure was what was causing all of the snapping, cracking, and popping.

All is good now
