Talking Looking to replace my hemi

Hey everybody, was wondering if A 5.7 hemi out of a 2011 ram would work in my 2005 Dodge Ram. It also has a hemi as well but has a broke connecting rod. Looking for other options if this engine is not rebuildable. It has EGR/NON MDS model Hemi in my 05. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The one in the 2011 is an Eagle. Its pretty different. I am not sure how hard it will be to make it work

You can physically bolt it in and to your transmission, however that's where it stops. Your PCM cannot run it, it would require quite expensive custom work. Why would you think this would be a viable option lol? That a different design, VVT, MDS, active intake engine would drop right into your 6 year older non MDS, non VVT, non active intake truck lol?

Actually you can probably beat an Eagle's numbers by camming an 03-08 Hemi

Ok well I didn't know that's why I asked. But another question, would inbe able to use just the block with the rotation assembly or would that not work either

Nope. You'll either need to rebuild your old one (can always rebuild it with a longer stroke crank...) or replace it with a similar vintage (same generation).
