Default Bugs

So, I just came back from a fly-in fishing trip in northern Ontario. It was a 12 hour truck drive to where we had to jump on the plane. My 2013 Ram performed flawlessly. I averaged 17.2 mpg mainly at speeds of 50-70 mph.

Now for my question,....

Does anyone have at recommendations on the best way to remove bugs that are plastered on my front grill and bumper!!!!

I soak my front of the truck with water, spray the most I can off with a hose, let it soak again and spray some more to get max off, then use a Bug removal glove as I wash the truck up. I also have a bug removal pad that I use on the stuff the glove does not seem to remove. Best not to let the bugs cook into your paint as it will etch it and over time destroy your paint.

Its funny. I have owned a lot of cars and other Dodge trucks, but my 13 seems to be a bug magnet. I clean the truck and with in 2 days the windshield is a mess with bugs.

Bug & Tar removal also works well
Sea Foam makes one called Bugs B Gone

other brands
http://www.autogeek.net/tarbug.html

http://www.squidoo.com/bugtarremover

bugs are so bad where i drive that i made a bug screen that fits behind the grille & goes in front of the Radiator, where the bugs & hay can really mess up the fin cooling

you can see where i put the top fasteners in this one

installed, hood closed

I just think the bugs are extra bad this year. I can't got out in my back yard without bugs swooping at my head.

I did the exact same ... Northern Ontario fishing .... Bugs are plastered all over the grill. Fishing was ridiculous good!.... That Bounce idea sounds interesting.

I live in Northern Ontario and yes the bugs are REALLY bad this year. I've never seen the black flies and mosquitoes so bad. I just purchased a 2013 Ram Sport black and the front bumper is filled with them. They normally last from June to July then they die off with the heat. But ya it sucks. I will have to check out those products.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will be cleaning the truck tomorrow and will be trying the suggestions posted. I will report back to let everyone know which one worked best for me.

GTyankee.. That's a great idea. I'm going to look into making one of those.
