Default McGaughys 2/4" Lowering Kit 09-13 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD 44052

Anyone install this kit? Thoughts? Any allignment issues? Ride stiffer? If any problems I will just do their 2" lowering springs in the rear and call it a day.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/McGaughys-2-...r#ht_526wt_850

Thanks in adance for your help!

Can't help you there bud.... but I did a GroundForce 2/3 drop and I am very happy with the results. Ride and handling excellent. alignment brought back to perfect spec. and install was zero problems.
I did a bunch of homework and the end result was Groundforce.

Mcgaughys makes a great kit and it's probably the softest ride out of all the drop kits. You should be able to get the alignment very close or all the way back in. If I had to criticize anything about it, it would be the lack of shocks in the kit. I personally would go with Belltech just because they include shocks in their kit, and I think Summit has it on sale right now. You can't go wrong with any of the known brands ( Mcgaughys, Belltech, or Ground Force), I just think BT has the best bang for the buck.

Thanks for the input but I had disregarded BT because there are a lot of complaints on this forum that they leave the truck crocked meaning different heights in the rear and their customer services does'nt seem to care. I do like the idea of the lowered shocks though thinking it could bottom out in the rear with 4" of travel gone from the shocks. It looks like they also do not come with the the sway bar end links or track bar relocator?

I've got their 2/4 kit and 0 complaints....rides like stock, handles like a true sport truck!! No squeaks and the alignment was dead nuts on, factory shocks work fine. I'm not sure on towing but maybe someone can. They use my truck on their add you can get a idea on what it looks like. I'd still like to go down 1 more inch in the front and 2 in the back.

So you have the spindle drop kit, correct? They have two kits now one with spindle and one without. I would rather just do the springs but I have emailed asking the difference and they have not emailed back.

That is great news!!! Thank you!!! That will be the kit I go with then.

Your truck looks great, I wanted the standard cab but the wife wanted the extra room for the kids. When the kids are grown I will go back to the standard cab.

Does the spindle kit require an alignment?

Yes. You should get an alignment anytime you alter the suspension. It won't be off as much as w/ a spring drop (obviously), but still should be checked/tweaked.
