After one month of using the UConnect with Navigation, I can give several observations:
1. The Ram truck I bought is absolutely wonderful. No regrets.
2. The Navigation system works as advertised, although not quite like using my stand alone Garmin. Takes a while getting used to. I've had a few times when it was just easier whipping out my smartphone and using Google Navigation to find my place.
3. The Yelp app is absolutely worthless. Why they put this POS on this system is beyond me. The Yelp app works off the Sprint cell towers, not GPS. This makes Yelp worthless in most of the US. Sprint barely exists in the entire northern part of Michigan, except for the interstate highways. Chrysler should base all their apps off of GPS, but not sure if that is possible. If they require an app be cell-based, they should give you the option of using ATT, Verizon, or Sprint.
4. The SirrusXM is great.
5. Where is Pandora, IHEeartRadio, and all the other promised apps?
6. The Travel Link is spotty. I like to use the live weather radar. But it barely ever works. When it does, it's pretty cool.
7. I've never been able to remotely use the UConnect smartphone app. I tried to start my truck just for the fun of it, and it's never worked.
So overall, the UConnect system is a love/hate relationship. Definitely some room for improvement.

Pretty sure all the Uconnect's remote start/unlock functions depend on Sprint connectivity. My driveway gets really spotty Sprint reception (I once had a Sprint company phone that dropped out when I arrived home) and therefore using the Uconnect app or the Mopar Owner Connect website to remote start my truck is hit or miss. I just have to use the key fob, which blows as I'm laying in bed and can't remember if I locked the truck and my phone is sitting right next to me.

I agree about the travel link weather radar. When I select it, it never has the radar info displayed. On our Lincoln, with Sirius travel link, most of the time the radar info is veiwable immediately. Also you can zoom the view into as close as 5 miles. That came in handy on a recent trip when we were trying to avoid a storm cell with a tornado embedded. We chose a different route home. I will probably not extend the travel link subscription when it's time on the RAM.

Question: Why can Ford offer a feature like five mile zooming and Chrysler cannot? And why would the Sirrus radar pop up immediately on the Ford and not on thr Ram? I'm confused. Sirrus you would think would be the same on all vehicles.

I sent an e-mail yesterday asking where the apps are, we'll see if I get a response. I REALLY want that SRT app

the 8.4a and the 8.4an radios were not originally designed to work with the sprint network. chrysler and uconnect originally had plans of something completely new, that would've blown normal cell service out of the water. unfortunately the deal fell through, and we were left with sprint, and the sierra aircard not responding properly to it. this is why people are seeing the "vehicle phone requires service" which can sometimes be cleared temporarily by doing a modem reset via the engineering menu, or ultimately a new radio.

I love how the Uconnect interfaces with my iPhone. I know we get some 6 months free service. I don't think i have used it once. Am i missing something, is it more or less On-Star.
I do like the wi-fi hot spot if needed for a brief time for a additional fee.
Seems like the Ford's My-sync offers a lot more, turn by turn navigation. You get that for 3 years free.

I don't like you very much, normally it takes a couple of minutes for me to decide I don't like someone but for you I'm making a special exception ... Seems some got it and some didn't. I called Uconnect assist this past weekend, they said that the RAM doesn't get it but when you look at the "package" page that shows all that's included in the package it show the SRT app, and it also has my VIN number at the top of the page, what's up with that
