I think it is a temperature change issue. I think internal parts expand and contract. Some times I don't use my truck for a few days at a time and when I got in it the mirror would be facing the back seat.

I am with JWM59. I think it may very well have to do with temperature hence why it happens overnight. I am in northern Idaho and there is a 20-30 degree drop at night. I am not certain but I think it may be worse depending on the temp swing.

This could be part of it, but I think the mirror is just too dang heavy for whatever resistance system they are using on it.

No air ride here but no clue how that would effect the mirror

I sat in the Ram for close to 5 hours waiting
I decided to see if i could spot the Microphone, it appears to be the slots on the very top of the mirror, i pushed the mirror arm down & closer to the glass & then readjusted the mirror head.
Now maybe the people on the other end of the phone call can better understand what i am saying
I think the microphone was too close to the headliner

What did you rotate the mirror so the microphones are now on the bottom?

no i did not flip the mirror, i just re-adjusted the arm of the mirror so that the top of the mirror is further away from the headliner

I think we should call the NHTSA and get them to investigate this serious issue. I mean we can not have trucks driving down the road with slight mirror droopage!

Imagine all the wrecks that could be caused by drivers glancing into their rearview mirror only to see the back seats!

Well it looks like the replacement mirror is doing the same thing.
