I tow a 6x12, but it is extra tall at 8 feet. I have a single cab 5.7, 4x4, 6 speed. I am getting 13-14 at basically empty (2500), and 11.5-12.5 at 5000 pounds. Roads are mainly flat.

I absolutely hate that transmission and torque management. CONSTANTLY trying to figure me out. By using the word hate, I mean I would like to meet my transmission in a bar and take it outside and beat the shit out of it in front of a crowd.

I am currently on my first towing camper trip with my new truck and have gotten as low as 13 mpg and as high as 15 mpg. I have an Aliner Expedition that when fully loaded weighs about 2500 lbs. the Aliner is a pop-up style so there is little to no aerodynamic drag. I also keep my speed under 65 mph.

I have the same Ram as you, and pull a double axle car trailer and car with a combined weight between 4-5000 lbs. Running 65-70 and NOT In the tow/haul mode, I am averaging around 12 MPG. My towing trips have all been in hilly Tennessee so I would expect to get a little better in a flat environment. Without the trailer I am getting between 18-19 MPG.

Indeed. I have only towed a u-haul trailer with my truck but it got 14.9 mpg on a 300 mile trip. It wasn't struggling so I left tow/haul off, but it wouldn't engage MDS so my mileage sucked.

I bought this thing because it can tow 9250 lbs but it never said what the towing MPG would be.

I got 14 mpg with my GMC 1500 towing a 6000 lb car and trailer from Wichita, KS to Michigan and that truck got about 19-21 mpg unloaded. I figure the Dodge pulling the same load would get 12 mpg or less.

When I tow my 9000lb camper(2012 5.7, 4x4, 6speed, 3.55gears) I get 9mpg. Of course the diesel will get better mileage towing but my friend has a 2012 with the Cummings and unloaded gets the same mpg I do(20 to 21mpg highway), with in 1 or 2mpg. I tow the camper maybe 6 or 7 times a year so it wasn't enough to warrant the extra money for a 2500 and the diesel. I am extremely pleased with the way it pulls, plenty of power(bone stock), even accelerating up hills when other pick ups with campers were dropping back. I didn't buy a truck for good gas mileage anyway.
