Default Tuner/warrenty ?s

My first question is will a tuner void your warrenty? I know dodge has to prove that the tuner itself caused the issue to happen but it seems like they would just blanket call it if there was a tuner enfolded. Am I right? My second question is do they make a tuner that doesn't leave a footprint on the system so if something was to happen then you could just set it back to factory settings without there being any evidence of a tuner being on there?

Tuner = void warranty if they find out

Now, it depends on the dealership and relationship you have with the service writer/manager. It's at the discretion of these people to void your powertrain warranty because of a tuner. If they try hard enough they can find any tuner but it's generally more of an issue on the diesel trucks compared to gas. If it's anything related to the powertrain it's very possible that they can void the warranty but other things like electrical, emissions, body would still be intact.

There is about a weeks worth of reading about this same exact subject if you want to spend the time to search for it. Everyone has their own opinion---

Tuner will void your warranty bottom line. I've heard of people saying they were using a code reader instead of a tuner when asked by the dealership for warranty work. But my opinion is there is a big difference between reading/clearing codes and re-writing the on board computer.
