Default Gave up on 1500 factory order, picked up 2500!

Hey everyone. I've been lurking on these forums for weeks now since I ordered my 1500 CC Longhorn back on March 5. Great group of people on here!

So like many, I'm now over 15 weeks waiting for my factory order 8 speed longhorn/cc/3.92/air ride. Vehicle was built May 11th, 1 week in "100% inspection," and then THREE delays for "quality control" issues AFTER it went through the inspection. go figure!

I finally cancelled my order...truck is still sitting at the factory at Warren.

Well I went out of town and decided to test drive a 2500 Longhorn cummins on a whim...and boy....all I can say is WOW. Found just what I wanted, fully loaded and bought it on the spot. Hopefully the pics below will work! Added Audiovox blue ray headrest monitors, HID lights 4300K, Backflip F1, and some recon lights you cant see in these pics, window tint, etc.

**Also, while waiting on my factory order of my 1500, I bought a few things in anticipation, including a 5.7 Liter 1500 Ram SB CAI which obviously I now can not use. Still brand new in box, never been touched. If anyone is interested, PM me and I can get it to you for a good price so I can recoup at least some of my loss!

Of note, driving impressions: Have about 1800 miles on the rig so far...and absolutely no complaints. I'm biased of course but I think the Rams are in a class of their own as far as interior/exterior looks are concerned.

Very nice. I wish I got black too. Just black is harder to maintain. Had a black car before and the swirl marks got on my nerves. But kinda wish I did and suck it up.

I have the same truck excluding the sunroof and mines a Laramie instead.

Sweet deal, I just got rid of my diesel I just couldn't justify it for my needs. The Longhorn to me simply based on fit and finish is as nice as any cadilac I have owned.

Yeah its overkill for my purposes too....heaviest things I tow are a couple side by side ATVs but its nice to have if I ever needed it. It's my first diesel and so far I'm getting 17-20 mpg on the first 3 tanks of fuel. This is coming from a Grand Cherokee hemi where I was getting about 12-13 on a good day

And yes I agree, the Longhorn interior is simply amazing. I get compliments on it everywhere I go (if the cowboy theme is something you can get along with

Your situation sounds precisely like mine. I ordered a 1500 on Feb 12, and it's still in Warren-at least two weeks ago it was when I checked in with dealer.

I love my 2500 Longhorn. I added Firestone air bags this weekend in anticipation of a 5th wheel. I love your bed cover, the backflip. Where did you get it?

Since this is your first diesel, don't forget to read the diesel supplement-if you didn't get one, send Customer Service an email and request one based on your VIN. It's very important.

Nice, nice truck!
