Default Looking for your Weathertech mud flap reviews

Wondering how well these prevent rock chips?

Not wanting to install the Mopar or Husky ones. Don't want to mar the paint (I know I can put down 3M) and don't want to drill.

Thanks,

Would like to know as well. My 2 week old truck stays clean for about 10 mins until the tires fling crud all over the side.

I have searched every post on this thread regarding this topic; plus a lot of time on the internet as well. Opinions vary greatly; some say they are to small do do any good, others have mentioned vibrations in the floorboards as well as additional wind noise. On the Sport model, the tires stick out about 2" past the guards and crud still gets slung up on the sides. I have the Sport with w2w steps and have found out the guards will fit without any problems. Last night, I came across a thread from 11/18/12 by ONOutdoorsman titled; WeatherTech Mud Flaps 13,000km Report. This member had removed his WeatherTech flaps only to discover severe paint damage (shown in pictures). In my opinion, the WeatherTech's need some kind of protective film or foam weatherstrip between them and the paint. I'm 90% sure I want to install them on my Sport, but have a few concerns regarding stability (2 screws per flap) and the best way to prevent paint damage (I do not want protective film sticking out past the flaps). Tshepp; I agree with you 100% regarding the crud flung all over the sides of the truck; it gets old fast. However, I am not so sure the WeatherTech's will solve the problem. It would be nice to see some pictures of RAM's with WeatherTech Flaps after driving through mud / salt so we can see the spray pattern; or lack of.

brad1911; happy to help a fellow member. Check out the discussion in the 2014 section on mud flaps; some good information.

I have a Laramie with factory running boards. Installed the weather techs. Fit is perfect. No drill works well. No paint marring after 8 months. They are large enough to keep most mud and road sling off the truck. I recommend them.

I highly recommend them as well. I had the mopar molded ones and decided I did not like the look from certain angles and I switched to the WT ones. Way better fit and finish and I would not look back.

I have WT mud flaps on mine. Before I lifted the truck and put on 35's, the flaps worked great. Now they look way too small and can't cover the increased tire width
