Default Speedometer and tach lights coming on by themselves at night

I have a new 2013 Ram 2500 I just purchased. The other night I was getting something off the porch when I noticed some lights on in my truck, upon further inspection I realized my speedometer and tach were lit up. I watched for a few minutes and then it went our for about 30 seconds and then came back on. It did this for a couple of hours before I went to bed. I had kind of forgotten about it until I went outside and loooked at it again tonight, and it's doing the same thing.
Has anyone else had, or heard of this problem?
Guess I'll be going by the service departmetn soon, but I thought I would check here.

Thanks,

Sounds like the radio glitch. Some radios will turn on random things like the cluster and drain the battery. It happened to me. I assume you have the 8.4a or 8.4an? The only fix is to replace the radio.

Here was my Odyssey:

Get it to the dealer ASAP so you are not stranded anywhere. Good luck to you.

WOW!, Darth Ram that was indeed quite an odyssey that you took with yours, I just read your entire thread. I hope mine is nothing likethat, but I guess I will go to the dealer first thing in the morning and find out.

In all seriousness seems like a version of the radio glitch because with Darthram and a few others the lights would NOT go out at all.

UPDATE: Went by my local dealer that I bought the truck from and told them about the issue and he hadn't heard anything about issue like this yet. He went out and got all the numbers from the radio and was going to research it. He also stated he was going to go ahead and order a radio to have it in stock if that did turn out to be the issue. He said somebody will need a radio eventually so it would be good to have one in stock. He will call me later to let me know what he finds out and go from there. One advantage I have over a couple of other guys that have had this is the fact mine is a diesel and had two batteries so hopefully it will never drain me down like it did them.
On a side note: I also carried him paperwork for a engine cover recall I got when I signed up my Uconnect that he hadn't heard anything about yet, and he was going to try and get that part coming.

Just a question. Did you have your keys in your pocket? Not 100 % sure but I think these truck have a proximity thing. Whenever I get close with my keys the dash lights up. No keys. No lights. Maybe it's my ram playing tricks on me though

I noticed it too, when I walk around my truck with my keys in my pocket it lights up. Also, as everybody else mentioned, when washing the truck, if you carry the keys in your pocket it unlocks anytime you spray the handle. I think next time I will bring a zip lock bag and just leave it on a ledge.
