Default 2500 side steps

I have 2012 ram2500 crew cab. I bought a set of 6 inch wide oval tube side steps from ebay with a 500 lb. weight capacity. My problem is my rocker panels are flexing when I use them. Has anyone ever have this problem? If so how was it fixed.

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. Now many mounting points does it have along the rocker? I have a set of Luverne cab length steps ( not on right now b/c I really don't like them) and they bolted up with 3 brackets along the rocker of the cab. I got some flex from the mounts, but that's it.

I wish I were more help. And you are sure it's the rocker flexing?

Mine the same. 3 brackets.
Yes I'm sure they're flexing.

I was considering adding the factory side steps myself so I went to the dealer on Sunday and tested a set on a Ram on their lot, sure enough they flex quite a bit.

I am now looking at the AMP steps but I am hoping to get a chance to test them out first.

My need for the step is mostly for the help in getting in my truck but I was hoping to add the factory steps for the looks.

I had the mopar steps on my until today. No flex out of them and I'm a pretty good size guy.

My amp steps I put on today don't flex either

Yesterday I installed the Mopar oval chrome aluminum side steps, picked them up from a previous Ram owner who installed a year and a half ago then removed them when his lease was up.

I used the support brackets and rivnuts from the AMP power step kit for extra support and also in case I step up and purchase those in the future.
