Default Map Lights, Dome Light and Vanity Mirror Lights automatic?

So just a quick is it normal or not question. I recently changed my map lights and dome lights to LEDs and didnt happen to notice if this happened before I swapped them. Is the map lights/dome/and vanity mirror hooked into the Ambient sensor at all to make them work at night only? They come on when I use the dimmer switch no matter what time of day however When I press the map lights, and the dome lights they do not light up (only turn off when door is open). Is this the appropriate function for this? I checked last night during dusk when the automatic headlights came on during my drive they did not work, however I stopped for fuel, and they worked immediately (The headlights came on with the sensor when I started the truck, and not while driving). I also checked during the day to turn the headlights manually on and this still did not change the operation of the vanity mirror light, or the map light to manually turn on by pushing it.
Just curious. Thanks everyone!

Those lights are not controlled by the sensor. They should work in the daylight as well as the dark.

if you have the bighorn and have the display in the guage cluster that has all the tire pressure and oil pressure and stuff. You can select to turn things on and off. I know you can have the mirror lights not come on and such. you can turn off the horn when locking doors or the remote start. I turned mine off. not sure on other light functions but check it out if you have the features.

Ill take a look. I don't seem to remember those being in the options. And I can confirm that at least they always work at night. It just seems peculiar that they only work then. I got out at 0647 this morning so I wonder if 7am is when they stop working. I think this is gonna take a little more experimenting.

mine all come on, headlights, side mirror lights and all interior lights upper center and rear back, rear bed lights.

I believe that you have settings in that center selection menus that lights can be turned on and off. os if you don't want the lights on when you unlock the doors you can turn that off.

I do not have individual light options only how long the "approach illumination" can be. And I am not referring to using the dimmer switch to activate these lights I am referring to individually activating the map lights by pushing them and as well opening the vanity mirror. They work fine by utilizing the dimmer switch at any time. And I tried tonight when I got to work at 1800 in daylight and they worked. So I'm stumped. Maybe just another one of those fluke Chrysler electrical issues. Ill have the dealer look at it when they change out my squeaky belt next week.

I believe you need resistors for your LEDs. I made sure to purchase CANbus bulbs for all of my interior bulbs even though they are not monitored by the CANbus system. No issues. I have heard of other people having similar issues and soldering resistors on the bulbs. I figure it's easier to buy the bulbs with resistors.

Not sure what manufacturer supplied the bulbs , I have RECON and they work fine , anytime all the time ,they have resistors in their gen II bulbs,...I think that is what they are called , anyway RECON work I called them before I bought them to ask about the issues you are having , other post about interior LED issues exist
