Had the Bullydog Hemi plus. Tried a couple different updates and didn't see much improvement.I was looking for better shifting and no mds. Didn't help with either. Mds still came on and the trans didn't shift any better. I don't drag race by the way.

What people need to realize about these "custom" mail order tunes is yes they are custom but they are not all that custom. If you have a hemi 4G ram with any various aftermarket intake and muffler and order one of these custom tunes you have the same "custom" tune as every other guy with the same truck.

Not knocking them or anything, just being honest and factual. Custom tuning is great but the canned tunes get you pretty much everything possible without big mods.

I have used diablo, superchips, and a custom mail order tune(via diablo) and the diablo was by far the worst in performance. Better than stock but not nearly as good as the custom or SC. The custom tune didn't perform any better than the SC tune.

I have experience with diablo and superchips for many years and diablo is ok but their canned tunes suck. Superchips has outperformed diablo every time we put them to the test(in various makes/models).

I agree, DS canned tunes suck. That being said, the tuner and it's ability to be "tweaked" makes it superior, IMO. I had pretty bad detonation (knock) with the DS canned tune (14* @ WOT) to where I could actually hear it pinging. Got a "custom" tune from Hemifever and all but eliminated the detonation issue, and the truck runs and shifts significantly better than the canned tune. He tweaked the shifts in that tune, and it got even better still. I have read on here about several guys having detonation issues with the BD, and they're just stuck, no ability to "custom" tune with their tuner. To me, that is what defines a true tuning module, the ability to actually tune with it. Some guys on here have had bad luck with custom tunes, and I empathize with them, but I haven't heard of any bad news with Hemifever so far. I think the caveat to all this is, you are taking a certain degree of chance the moment you hook ANY tuning module up and modify your PCM's factory parameters. I just like knowing I can change things if they don't look/feel right. But to each their own. JMO.

I definitely agree the custom tuning is a huge benefit, but only if you want/need it.

Loving all the replies folks! It's awesome. My whole issue as far as I'm concerned is adding a lift/ tires & exhaust then having headaches due to these mods. I may also rock a cam & port N polished heads. Nothing more radical than that. In addition to some trans mods & diff gearing maybe to compensate. I'm rocking the 3:92 lim slip from the factory. Hopefully thats enough but perhaps not. Either way loving all the feed back. I wish superchips would push a 2011 - current tuner to the market. I see one post they mention loving the sc tuner. Must be a 09-10 cause to my knowledge they don't make one for a 12. Any ways keep it up & I love the post statement by snrusnak Damn right this is America "F'ing A Cotton", "F'ing A"!
