Default Need some quick feedback - Bigger tires and MPG

THE STORY:

I went to Les Schwab, told them that MPG mattered to me but I wanted more aggressive tires and wheels.

(my truck is: 2015 Laramie | 5.7 Hemi | 4WD | 3.21 Gearing | 8 Speed Trans)

I was told as long as I stayed with 33's (same as stock) - I'd lose .5 to 1 mpg for changing the tread from the road tire to an aggressive mud terrain tread pattern.

I have driven 100 miles... my EVIC shows a drop of 2-3 miles per gallon and more than that on the highway.

I'm considering changing back to stock... because "settling" for 33's and losing that much MPG sucks bad.

OR.....

If I went with the 35's I wanted anyways, I'd be happy with a 2-3 miles per gallon loss.

MY QUESTION:

Will it be worse or the same as it is now??

The factors contributing to exact MPG are far too analog to give you the sure answer you want.

Personally I don't trust EVIC as it's just a guess and it's worth noting that "33 ain't 33" - for example the 265/70r17 tires that came on my Tradesman are 31.6" diameter and the 255/80r17 tires which replaced them are 33.1" diameter, a difference of ~5% so even if the EVIC showed a ~5% reduction in fuel mileage I would still actually cover the same number of miles on the same quantity of fuel (unless I spent $$$$ on a programmer to correct the calibration) .

I have a 6" lift with 35x12.5x20 Toyo AT2 with Fuel wheels (pretty heavy combo) and lost about 2-3 miles per gallon. I have 3.92 gears.

Mine has a 6" lift, 35" Toyo MT's, and I'm getting about 13-16 mpg. 3.55 gears on mine.
