Default First detail on my new 2014.

I just got the truck exactly 1 week ago and finally had the time to detail it Well not a whole lot to detail since the paint was in good shape to start with.

-2 Bucket wash/rinse
-Clay
-2 Bucket wash rinse
-Inspect paint, wasn't in that bad of shape to be honest.
-Polished with Optimum Hyper Spray Polish with white polish pad.
-IPA wipe down.
-Optimum Opti-Seal.
-Let cure 24 hours.
Topped with Collinite 845

Couple pics.

Sorry about the finger

Thanks man. Tomorrow I'll get my R/T wheels swapped, then level the rear again.

Now gotta wait and see what Primo comes up with since he got a new ride as we'll.

nice work man! i love the colour...if we didn't already have a maroon/red highlander, and a red front door, this was going to be my colour.

might be thursday before the new ride hits my hands! but, i don't know when illl have i chance to get the polish and opti guard on!

did you use opti coat or opti seal? Ive never seen anyone top opti coat with 845...

Thanks man, the color is pretty nice and the pearl is crazy in the sunlight.

I meant Opti Seal, not coat. Since I just have the sealant, I like to top with 845.

With Opti Coat, do you still get the micro marring as time goes on, or does the opti coat protect the paint that much to where the finish isn't being touched?

oh yeas opti seal makes more sense.

well good question really. i mean it is not bullet proof suff, but it sure does take a beating. I'm all for the permanent coatings, but with opti coat you have to republish and reseal the entire panel if you have a repair or scratch...if that makes sense.

its no excuse not to take better precautions, but opti coat is bird dropping proof, chemical resistant, and doesn't wear off. it must be abraded off (polished) so for that i love it.

it is especially great on Rims as it is a brake dust god send...

Just got my wheels swapped at the dealer, so now time to level this thing out. You can for sure feel the difference having the ass end way up in the air as opposed to the rear leveled 2".

Thank you sir. I have found a quick easy way to de badge. I use heavy fishing line and shave behind the badges. Then like those 3M command strip hooks you see on TV. Pull up a corner of the badge tape and pull/stretch it back at about a 30* angle. Everything comes off clean. Took me about 20-30 minutes start to finish. Going to level the rear end next.
