Default I want wider beams at night

I have a brand new Ram 1500, and my previous vehicle had a much wider beam at night, on low and high. I nearly pasted a Deer into my grill last night and didnt see it til the very last second. I am certainly used to the wider beams and really need em for seeing critters on the shoulder...what are my options? Are there just brighter bulbs or are there aftermarket assemblies? Thanks!!

This forum is awesome!

Sylvania make some brighter bulbs, the dealerships over charge for them

other options would be dual headlights, buy them from anyone besides the dealership

when i am running low beams, i also use my Fog Lights

You might want to get a projector retrofit in your headlamps with HID bulbs and ballast. but before you got that route, get a set of HID bulbs and ballast 5000k for your fogs, you might just get what your looking for since the the light out of the fogs has a wide spread to it and with a HID kit in them, they will be much brighter.

Throw HID's in the headlights and you will be able to see the road, shoulders, fields/houses beside the road.. And pretty much everywhere else all over the place .. I did this because I drive on country roads at night every night and if I still had my stock halogens I would have introduced my Ram to bambi a few times.

Retrofit projectors with HID's look and work very good though. I took the cheaper route.

Thanks guys, I will check into the HIDs and report back.

Another two nights with them and I just can't get over how narrow they are.

I know HIDs are the bees knees and all but for the time being I went with some 5900K White Xenons off of ebay. I was very surprised by how bright they are. Much better that factory. But I'd still recommend HIDs if you're willing to pay the couple of extra bucks.

My Express has 9145 in fogs, and I put 9155's, made them much brighter without going HID's, and use them on lows all the time...just added 2013 headlights, and they are much better than older headlights since they have projectors.
