I'm looking to remove my front license plate. It has been an eyesore since I purchased the truck last Oct. since there is no bracket (just two bolts holding it on the chrome bumper). Also, because of this 'set-up' the plate has started to scratch the bumper.
I am not pleased.
I recently learned from local police officials that vehicles that do not come from the factory with a proper front license plate bracket are not required to run with a front plate. So I am within the law to remove it. Problem is, once removed, I will have two open holes in my bumper on display.
I am looking for ideas of filling the holes with bolts, preferably chrome, that will be flush with the bumper and pretty much hide the holes. I have only been able to come up with chrome 'bullet' looking license plate bolts at a local auto parts store (they are the kind that are built for anti-theft). They would match the bumper, but would not achieve my goal of a flush finish since they stick out a good half inch.
I have scoured the internet, but this seems a difficult item for me to figure out how to find. Any suggestions or ideas?
