Default Billet technology catch can

So I have the 8 speed which everyone including billet technologies say that my catch can from my 09 truck won't fit because of cooling lines. So after three weeks and no new mount from billet technologies for my catch can I decide to look under the hood and see a nice threaded hole in the cylinder head right where my bracket mounted to on my 09 truck. So I used it to mount my catch can up and it fits perfect without rubbing any wires or hoses. Not sure what the clearance problem was but like I said it fits perfect. Just posting this for anyone else that is in the same boat.

Glad you got it to work. I created a spacer out of 8mm washers and used a longer 8x35 bolt

Here is the post from the 5.7 Engine Section of this form:

In a nutshell it is a little container that traps oil and fuel from re-entering the intake.

A pic of one can be found in this thread:

I did one of the original installs on an 8 speed back in March. The thread got moved to the 5.7 forum.

This is a picture from my install; obviously the transmissiom cooler heater line are completely differrent.

Here is a picture using washers as a spacers. I used an 8mmx35 standard thread bolt and about five 8mm washers. It pushed the z-bracket out far enough that you can take the can off without touching those transmission lines.

So I must be lost. I have the 8 speed and I don't have cooling lines that high on mine. They must have changed something.
