Default Ordered my Solo!

So- I've been eye-balling the Solo Performance Ram Bolt on Muffler assembly for a couple months now. I missed out on the group buy and I was hoping another would start up, but no such luck. I did a lot of reading here, on Solo's website and on other forums. No one really had anything bad to say, in fact they were very positive. They offered free shipping and I must say, fast shipping! I ordered it Sunday evening and it's scheduled to be here tomorrow! I will post pics and a review over on the 2013 forum when I finish the install. I'm pretty stoked and I'm double stoked that I can support a company that supports our forum!

Good to hear, Nick. We'll be looking for the review and a sound clip. Have fun putting it on!

And your opinion, if you've had time to get it installed? Ive been looking at the cat back kit, kinda waiting on another group buy as well. Does the kit and the bolt on muffler offer the same type sound I wonder as I may take the route you did.

I believe I can pretty much answer your question concerning the sound difference between the cat-back and just the muffler swap. I've had the Solo cat-back for about 9-10 months, it sounds just like the video on Solo's sight. That said, the cat-back also comes with 24" long tips, which makes a noticeable difference in the tone AND the volume of the sound. Not saying the muffler-only is a bad thing, it is after all a lot cheaper, and you might prefer other or stock tips. But the longer tips Will amplify/affect the final sound. By the way, I love mine!

I'm loving mine as well! The sound is great. I did find a pair of 18" magnaflow 4" tips on Ebay. Brand new and I paid $30!!! Those will hopefully get welded on this week or early next.
With the muffler only, you still have the factory resonators on the tail pipes, so I think that mellows the sound a little more as well. My thoughts were that the factory exhaust is all stainless, so I didn't feel the need to replace it all. When I get the tips welded up, I may replace the resonators with a section of stainless, thereby eliminating them. That's still up in the air yet.
I did post pictures and some video/audio of it here:
