Glad you are all okay Chris. It's a shame to see your beautiful Outdoorsman damaged but she did her job in saving your lives. Best wishes from a fellow 2011 Outdoorsman owner!!

I am glad to read that you are both OK

looks like every body part forward of the windshield is damaged
possibly the passenger door & mirror too

what did you come into contact with, a 4x4 pickup or a Uhaul truck ???

A true testament to the worthiness of a good truck. Glad you and your precious cargo are safe!

But it saved our lives, and my daughter Alexandra and I walked away without a scratch! Go RAM Trucks!
HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER!!!

That's great to hear that everybody is okay, but I have to admit that seeing your truck damaged the way it is, makes me feel a whole lot safer driving mine.

I hope for your sake that you either get a great mechanic or a replacement.

I've had vehicles repaired after an accident that IMO should have been a write off, and they were never the same as they were new.

Best of luck to you and your favourite daughter.

The short story is that a pickup truck cross the center line into my lane of traffic, head-on with the minivan directly in front of me. There was a cloud of vehicles, the minivan flew off the road, and the pickup that crossed the line was stopped in the road in front of me. One thing lead to another, and I T-boned him on a 45 and essentially ran down the side of his truck (hence the damage to the front right quart of my vehicle).

They had to use the jaws to get the passenger out of the truck on the side I hit it on, so you know it was a good whack. Thankfully, the Outdoorsman has massive brakes, so I was able to slow the rig down enough to where the impact was substantially lower than the 50MPH or so at which I was traveling. So much so that the airbags didn't even deploy.

And yeah, the right side mirror was damaged. And I just put those fool things on! You may remember my write-up on that process recently.

So, didn't help his truck at all—his truck was a wreck, so to speak. Although I could "maybe" have driven my truck away, I had them tow it. The engine was still running after the impact, and no fluids were spilled. I was even able to start the truck after I shut it down and move it a bit.

I say it's a mighty fine vehicle!

Thanks for the kind words! My dealer's body shop is one of the best I've encountered. They worked on my last three vehicles (not that I have bad luck or anything), and their work is impeccable. My previous truck was involved in a multi-car chain collision, damaging both the front and rear of the vehicle. They fixed it up fabulously. So much so, actually, that when I traded it in for my RAM, they couldn't even tell it had been damaged, and I got more in trade than what I paid for it.

Now that's what I call a good day

With the holiday weekend, it looks like I won't find out anything until early this week. I'm as anxious as you to find out!
