Aside from my daughter and me who are fine, one was fatal, one was serious, and one was banged up but not too bad. This according to the sheriff's report, though. I don't have any first-hand knowledge of their conditions.

It wasn't a pretty scene, that's for sure.

I appreciate your thoughts and concerns!

Doing my "just in case" move, and surprisingly my wife was doing the same, I was looking at the dealer inventory of new RAM 1500s. They're all beautiful, but not a single one didn't have 20-inch wheels and a 3.21 rear end. That's a no-tow-show, right there. Kinda sad, really. Of course, I could move up to a 2500 :-)

Finally was able to get the insurance assessor into the Sheriff's impound to go over the truck. The initial damage assessment is just below $10K, not enough to total the truck. The threshold is 70%, and the truck is still worth ~$32K in excellent condition according to KBB.

So now it's time to start bugging the Sheriff's department at regular intervals until they set it free :-)

I have the 3.92 gears and wish I had more. I can't imagine how anemic the 3:21 must be!

Just got off the phone with the Sheriff's Office. They're still working on the investigation and are downloading black-box info off of the vehicles' computers at last known information, according to the detective.

Day 24 without my truck. I might need to go to rehab after this. RAM DTs!

Hopefully they'll wrap this up soon and I'll get my truck back soon. We're highest priority in the queue now, so here's to quick detective work!

Not entirely sure how normal it is, but since there was a fatality involved, I'm sure they're making sure they have all the angles covered before they release "evidence". Baby steps! There are five accident investigations lined up at the department. I suspect they're a tad overwhelmed at the moment.

Thanks for your thoughts

I've got my eyes trained on a couple of Hemi 2500s, though, just in case!

3:55 isn't much better, it towes a light rig well enough (5100lbs dry), but I don't have a lot of room to grow... I see a dually in my future, well that and a 41'+ 5th Wheel toy hauler.
