Default Driveline vibration?

My 2009 Hemi 4x4 has a vibration at speeds of 35mph on up. I read the vibration tsb and this is definetly not a tire balance problem.( Especially considering I have different tires on it than from the factory Wranglers). This problem was evident with the old tires and rims and the new tires and rims. It seems to get worse on decel and is a harmonic type of vibration. I felt it from day one and have had it in a few times and seem to be getting blown off by the dealer. I am taking it in tomorrow (yet again) and I will be making the technician drive with me to show him what I am talking about. Being that I am a mechanic myself, this is incredibly annoying. Any others out there with similar vibration/driveline issues? I LOVE my truck but it seems that problems keep popping up as I have had caliper problems as well. Maybe I am a little too analytical.

Default Update

I took the truck in today and the dealership ordered a new driveshaft. They seem to think its the u-joints. Which, of course, makes sense. But we will see in a few days when it comes in.

Ram2009,

I had the same issue with a consistant vibration at 60+ MPH. My truck was in the dealer 5 times for them to correct it. They did everything from changing rims, force balancing, etc.. They finally changed the lower control arms and I have zero vibration, it rides like a Cadillac!

Thanks Scott! I will keep you posted if the driveshaft solves the problem or not. If it doesn't, I will push for other options such as the one you had. Although I am not sure what the reasoning would be for an A-arm causing a vibration. Was it rubbing? or contacting the frame or sway bar link? or something else?

Thanks again for the feed back!

HELPPPP has anyone out there solved this vibration issue? I have a 2009 crew cab Laramie 4x4 and it vibrates also. Dodge has put 5 new rims on it and I paid extra for michellin tires. they have been road forced a dozen times and I still have the vibration issue. Dodge is telling me all their 4x4 trucks ride like this. I will take any help I can get. THANKS

I got the same thing... but at very high speeds... aprox 160km's +

Not that I drive that speed alot or at all.. but when ya want to put on a little show for your friends inside the truck... she gets vibratting... but feels like its from the drive shaft.. and its not a constant vibrate it comes n goes at a constant speed..

My buddy thats a mech says its just cause the drive shafts arnt balanced and do that at high speeds.... as they werent overly made for high speed... duno if hes correct or not

I hate to break the news but these dodge shafts are getting WORSE as they get newer. They are coming in with tons of balance weights on them which is a sure sign they are having problem w/ them from the factory. I don't think it's the u joints..not possible with so little miles..it's a poor design from the factory.

They refuse to check the drive shaft. They say that is not the problem. I have had very poor help from dodge concerning this issue. They try to put me off and say all their 4x4s drive like this. I have driven trucks all my life and have enough common sense that my passenger seat should not be shaking as you drive down the road.
