Default Level Prices?

So i can get my truck levelled with spacers, installed for $620. Or i could get Bilsteins installed for $800. Are these reasonable? Keep in mind i'm in Canada.
I was also quoted $575 for bags installed, which seems a little bit outrageous.
I can't find anywhere else in the city that will install these things for me, and i'm not very comfortable doing it myself.
Thanks everyone.

Did they give you a break down of the quote? A price for parts and a price for labour?

It's around $220 for the Bilsteins. Maybe a little higher in Canada but if you get them from Bully's Performance I doubt it.... So that would leave $580 for labour. I'm assuming they included an alignment ($100) so now we're at $480 for the install. For an experienced mechanic with the right tools it should take 2 hours tops to install them. That would mean their charge out rate is $240 an hour which is absolutely ridiculous!

In my mind it should be around this:
$260 for the Bilsteins (we'll play it on the high side)
$100 for the alignment
$200 labour (2 hours at $100/hour)
Which totals $560.

I'd go back to your shop and ask for a breakdown of the quote if you didn't get one. That way you know exactly where they're getting the numbers from.

Bilsteins sell for $188 each. $86/hour (they figured 3-4 hours) labour and $140 alignment.
Or i could go spacers @ $190 + 2-3hrs + $140 alignment which is $620 on the high side. Are bilsteins worth the extra $200?
Thanks everyone

Well the Bilsteins are definitely worth the extra $200 IMO but I still think that pricing is way too high. If I was you I would buy the Bilsteins yourself from Andrew or Jeremiah at Bully's Performance. You'll save quite a bit of money just by doing that. Then go talk to a few other shops and see what they say for install time and wheel alignment costs. Again, 2 hours should be lots of time for an experienced mechanic and an alignment should be more around $100.

I have a ready lift 2.0 and it cost 200 plus tax. My dealership is picky about warranty when it comes to lifts and leveling kits. Rather than buy it somewhere else I bit the bullet and bought from them. After installation and a wheel alignment it was 650.

Their price with airbags is over 900 installed. They don't deal with bilstein, but there is a dealership an hour away that does. Their prices are 1000 for front and rear struts and shocks. Keep in mind I am located in Newfoundland, Canada, prices tend to run a little higher here.

Tippmannr,

What route did you end up pursuing?
